Christmas!

It was truly a wonderful Christmas, full of that awesome Christmas magic. Sierra's at a good age to really get into things now. Something funny, when we put the cookies and milk out for Santa, I went to get something else and I looked over, Sierra's sitting there gnawing on Santa's cookies lol. She really cracks me up!
I had her Santa stuff all ready and then when we went to see Santa Claus and he asked her what she wanted, she came up with "a new doll" on her own. So I had to come up with something...(well I didn't HAVE to but we want to make our children happy, right?) So I have had a pretty doll in storage for a while and decided Santa could deliver that too. :) And it turned out on Christmas morning, it wouldn't really have mattered because when she came in holding another of her dolls, she saw her kitchen, dropped her other doll and went straight for that. lol I kept saying, "Look what else Santa brought!" but she hardly took a second glance at her new doll for a few minutes, silly girl. Anyway, I hope that everyone had as wonderful a Christmas as we did! And may your new year be even better than the last!

Sierra turned the big 3 over the weekend and I can hardly believe it!! My baby is three!
Sierra is:

-Funny funny!
-Loves to play with her cousins and other kids

-Loves giving me lots of kisses and hugs
-Loves to cuddle
-Excited to be a big sister
-Wants a little brother
I love love love this little girl sooo much! I don't know what we would do without her, she's such a special part of our family! Happy happy birthday, my sweet Sierra!!

Halloween 2011

Halloween was really fun this year, we went to a ward party a few days before Halloween where they had a costume contest for both the adults and the kids. I went as a bowling ball, lol, and Sierra was Boo from Monsters Inc. She was such a cute Boo! (We didn't win the costume contests BTW.) Then on Halloween, I wanted Sierra to be a little warmer for TOT, so she was a little pumpkin. I took Sierra out trick-or-treating and she had a ball! She's at a fun age now to do all the fun stuff! I hope everyone had a great Halloween! Bring on the holidays! :)

I downloaded the coolest program to my android phone and PS, it's FREEE! It's called PicsIn (hint hint everyone with an android phone) and you can do sooo much fun stuff with your pictures! Now I can scrapbook right when I get my pictures!! Oh the joys of technology! Here are a few of the things I've done with some of my pictures, enjoy! (The freaky little guy with green eyes is an old doll they had displayed at Lagoon. He was creepy to begin with, but I had to make him creepier. I'm sorry I didn't keep the original picture of him for a before and after.) The cat is not mine but I wish he was, I love him!! His eyes are gorgeous!

Vegetarian Porkchops?

How do you go from this:

Well, I'll just show you the process! This is Juan's way of making vegetarian meat! It's something he learned in Peru! So you take a 5 lb. bag of flour, as shown above and pour it all into a big mixing bowl, add a bit of water and knead, knead, knead:

Then, you stick it in the sink and fill it up with more water and swish it around a bit, give the dough a little bath: :D

Then you simply let the dough sit in all that wet goodness and soak for about an hour. Finally, you drain the liquid and wring out the dough. Yes, I said wring it out. Like a dish cloth. When it's mostly dry, you mix in some soy sauce, however much you like for flavor, add some crushed garlic from a fresh clove, let all that mixture marinate for a while. Then, you cut the dough up into patty-shapes, store in a bowl in the fridge with plastic over it until you're ready to use. Then, you just fry it up on a pan on the stove, like sausage patties, and voila:
meatless meat!

Looks divine, doesn't it? Juan is simply in Heaven when he eats it. I, however, do not share his enthusiasm. Sorry Juan. Well, Juan seems to think that we will be able to do anything on our little android phones so he's decided that he's going to cancel the internet and just have our phones. Which is fine, because we can do most everything, but I tried the other day to post pictures and update my blog from my phone and it won't work. So I don't know how I'm supposed to keep up with my blog after he cancels the internet. I guess I can go to someone's house, except that I take all my pictures with my phone now, so I just think blogging is going to get more complicated in the future. Just wanted to fill you all in on why I don't update my blog very often. :) I guess I'll figure something out. I guess that's it for now. At least it's updated. Been long enough, huh? lol

Okay, okay, so I know I need to update my blog, it's been ages! So, here's an interesting post! I've been reading these books about ghost towns and other such things and I've made a list of things I'd love to see someday! (Hopefully sooner than later on some.) Here we go!

#1: The Anasazi Cliff Dwellings

It just amazes me, these "lost worlds" and interesting places of the past! I'd love to see these!

#2: Bodie California

I LOVE ghost towns and I've heard others talk about their trips to Bodie and it sounds interesting, I'd love to go there!

#3: Definitely sooner than later - Alcatraz!!

I want to to there and see it, I've wanted to for a long time! Some people say it's spooky. Well, I'm into a little "spooky" now and then! :)

#4: Pompeii, Italy (Which I probably won't ever get to.)

Stories like this just fascinate me! I'd love to see it in person! Wow!

And #5: (Save the absolute best for last!) My dream! My obsession! I have GOT to get out there and see The Winchester Mystery House!!!

This one totally fascinates me, I've practically read everything about it! I love reading facts about it, the history about it! Ask me anything!! The only thing I haven't done yet is SEE IT IN PERSON!! Please, won't someone take me out to San Jose (do you know the way to San Jose??) and go through it with me?! I LOVE this story! Seriously, ask me anything about it! If you don't know anything about it, go to the website, check out pictures, read the story, it's CrAzY I tell ya! cRaZy! Spooky! Weird! I <3 it! :)

There's a ton more places I want to visit, anyone want to take a world tour with me? Let's go!

100th Post!!

Wow, this is my 100th post!! So I thought I'd do a post containing all sorts of interesting things about ME! (Maybe not 100 things but I'll try!)

-I collect keychains, I have over 500!

-I sent a high school graduation announcement to the President of the United States (Clinton) and received a reply! (Okay, it was probably generic, but it was still a reply!) :)

-I've been to Utah, Idaho, Nevada, California, New Mexico, Wyoming, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina...oh, I guess that's it.

-I have an amazing, beautiful little daughter who's just a tad bit naughty at times! :)

-I'd love to travel the world extensively someday.

-My husband and I went to California/Disneyland/Universal Studios for our honeymoon.

-We were actually "mooned" on our honeymoon. (Nice huh?) lol

-I've been on Wicked at Lagoon. (**Doesn't sound unusual, but to me, it's a big feat!) :)

-Once, during "missionary week" in Jr. High, I got sent to Peru. Since then, I've wanted to go there.

-I married a wonderful man from Peru! (Now I get to go there someday, hopefully!) (Funny how things work out, isn't it?)

-I went to a concert of two of the Beach Boys.

-I lived through Jurassic Park Roller Coaster (**See above.)

-I've never had a broken bone (knock on wood) but I've hyperextended a knee twice. (double-ow!)

-I got to visit some "haunted" places in Georgia.

-I would love to visit the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA someday.

-I love reading anything and everything! I love a good love story!

-I love almost all kinds of music!

-I'm a total outdoors lover!

-I'm a total animal lover!

-I write poetry, children's stories, novels, etc. (Nothing published yet, but it's a goal.)

-I've hiked up to Delicate Arch at Arches Nat'l Park (**See above.)

I guess that's it, my life is otherwise boring. :) Anyway.....

My Little Sierra

My little Sierra is so dang cute, I can't get enough pictures of her sometimes - why do us parents need about a million pictures of our kids? Cause they do such cute and funny stuff, we want to capture every moment!

She was laughing her head off in the bath one night because she was just splashing as hard as she could and water was going everywhere! She was having a ball! I was soaked, she loved that.

And I just loved this picture!

Sierra does this funny face sometimes, it cracks me up! We were sitting in the car waiting for daddy to finish what he was doing. I looked back at her and she was doing her funny face. lol

Sierra has a whole basket full of these clips. One night we were watching tv and she kept putting her hand up to give me one clip after another to put in her hair. Right after I'd clip one in, her hand would shoot up with another one. Silly girl. So, I kept putting them in...

Her hair was full of them - in a way, it was cute! And it matches those jammies she's wearing. haha

I love this girl!!! (This is another one of her funny faces, she copied it from a smile I give her sometimes.) hehe

I got my computer back and I had a lot of stuff to catch up on, so I'm just putting a bunch of pictures so it's not such a long, boring post! (With a little commentary here and there.) :)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family, and Sierra discovered the love of olives!

This is all the nieces and nephews together, it was wonderful to have everyone together for Thanksgiving!

Sierra turned 2 and I love doing surprises, so we totally decorated the hall outside her room after she went to bed. I wish I would have had more streamers, I wanted to make a full streamer curtain across her door, but this is all we had. It worked.

Of course, I had the camera ready for when she came out and she was a little mystified!

...but she loved it!

Juan and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on December 22nd - I can't believe 4 years have gone by, I hope we have 104+ more! Love you babe!

Our family Christmas party was on Christmas Eve, it was fun to get together! I love holidays!

All the kids got pillow pets (those were popular this year!!) and Sierra loves her little lady bug! Thanks grandma!

Here she is opening her "spread!" We were so blessed this last Christmas. Someone knocked on our door and when we opened it, we found a bag full of gifts on our porch, I was so touched by the gesture! Thank you very much, whoever did that, it really made our Christmas! That's one special reason I love the holidays - the spirit of giving is so strong! We usually like to be the ones to do that sort of thing, so thank you, 'Santa and Elves.' :)

Well, folks, it's official, I haven't blogged since last year. hehe My laptop's adaptor cable [wire] snapped apart inside the plastic casing and so my computer has been out of commission. It's annoying. I have to use Juan's and I don't like his as much as my own. But one of these times I'll get it up and running, I can't wait. I suppose I could upload some pictures to Juan's computer so I can do a blog update, I just haven't done it. I really need to, there's lots to catch up on. Soon, I promise! Just wanted to keep you all 'abreast' of the situation, hahaha.

Fall is here!

Ah yes, Fall is here. The time when leaves change into brilliant colors and drop to the ground for kids to gather up and jump in. The air gets cooler. And HALLOWEEN is near!! Yay!
I got this ad yesterday in the mail and something funny caught my eye, can you tell what it is? Look it over carefully, then I'll zoom in.

That just struck me as funny, I don't know why. No wonder the kid has a frown on his face. LOL

Why is it that kids just won't cooperate when you need them to? I'm talking specifically about MY kid! I had her all dressed up and ready for pictures of her Halloween costume but she's such a strong-willed stinker/child and she wouldn't cooperate in the least! Finally, I let her flop to the floor, arranged everything and snapped a picture! So, here she is....Dora the Explorer. Except for the tears, everything was perfect. Even the map - I made it.

We are all ready for Halloween, hooray! My favorite time of year!

Labor Day, Zoo, Concert

Boy, have I got some catching up to do! There's been lots going on, so I'll start with three segments; Labor Day weekend, our zoo trip and an exciting concert!

Labor Day Weekend
We decided for Labor Day weekend to go up to the Heritage Festival in Heber City and then ride the Heber Valley Railroad over to Swiss Days. None of us have ever ridden the railroad before, so it was an adventure!

This is the mini train ride at the Heritage festival. (As you can see, there weren't m(any) people at the Heritage Festival.) (But then again, that was Friday afternoon, maybe there were more on Saturday.)

Here is Sierra jumping in the bounce house - she's never done that before so she wasn't quite sure what to do. At least she had the bounce house all to herself.

When we got to the other end, we had to board a bus to get to Swiss Days. Sierra wanted to drive the bus. Um...cute, but I don't think so. Yet. hehe

We had a great time at the zoo with my friend, Cherish, and saw many things, including:

And we rode the train, what fun! (Sierra's face could use a good scrubbing! We had a treat too, as you can tell!)

The Concert

My cousin, Porter, was in a band called "Ask For the Future" before he passed away last March. They got together and played a concert in my Aunt and Uncle's backyard for his birthday on September 13th. It was a wonderful concert filled with nice music, friends, family, and a yummy cake and goodies too! Thanks Uncle Mark and Aunt Susette for hosting this concert in your backyard, it was very enjoyable!

Sierra just wandered on over to some stranger's lap and crawled in! (Sorry, I don't know your names, but thank you for entertaining Sierra all evening, she loved it!)

She loves to rock on her horse so fast and high, and I watched (in seemingly slow motion, as it always seems when something is about to happen, you know) as the horse went too far forward and she went down and hit her face smack-dab on the tv table. Her lip would not stop bleeding forever and she didn't want me to hold anything on it. She looks miserable, doesn't she? My poor baby! Her first serious OWIE!

Summertime Fun!

I can't believe Summer is just about gone! But here are some of the things that we've enjoyed this year!

I was able to go to Cowabunga Bay with my brother, sister-in-law, nephews and niece, it was so much fun! Thanks Cam and Shayna for letting me tag along on your once-a-year adventure!

For Juan's birthday this year, he wanted to go swimming! (Which is weird because he usually doesn't like the public pool.) Sierra is such a little fish! She loves the water so much, she loves kicking her legs and splashing, I call her my little Mermaid!

And he also wanted Indian food for his birthday dinner - he loves Indian food - so we went to the India Palace in Provo with our friends Elaine, Pepe and Margarita. I can now say I've had lamb, it was quite delicious!! I enjoyed our dinner very much! Then, we had a birthday party at Trent's house with our family and a very expensive [Baskin Robbins] ice cream cake, which I'll never indulge in again, except from Walmart or somewhere else that's cheaper. Wow! I didn't know it would cost so dang much! But never again. Nevertheless, it was pretty:

We also had the privilege of going to my beautiful cousin, Kristie's baby blessing, what a handsome guy, don't you think? We love you, Ryker!

Like I said before, Sierra loves water, she'll just walk into it, whether or not she's in a swimsuit. We had the sprinkler going and she was getting soaked in her clothes so we changed her into her swimsuit and had a ball! I love that face! It was kind of cold and she was trying to laugh at the same time. She's so cute!

K, here's the story of the shopping cart. I got this little cart forever ago and I don't know why, I just loved it. It's not one of those flimsy plastic play carts, that's real metal, my aunt thinks it was a salesman's sample or something, I don't know. Anyway, I still love it. I found it on Ebay years ago. Well, Sierra has since discovered it and she too loves it and will push it all over the house, it's so cute. It's just her size. (Well, almost anyway.)

When I get the chance (which is rare!) to do Sierra's hair, I love it. She doesn't usually like me to do anything with it. I love her hair.

And here she is all dressed up, what a poser! hehehe My pretty baby! (Who's not such a baby anymore. *sniff)

I thought this was a cute picture of her during her nap today, my little angel. And as you can tell, we do not have air conditioning. (UGH!) You can just see the heat radiating from her rosy cheeks! Poor thing!

Why do kids feel the need to stuff their faces? Instead of taking a little bite, chewing and swallowing, this is what Sierra does most of the time. Funny, funny girl! And she's looking at me like...."wha?" hehehe

What Have I Gotten Myself Into?

You wait nine months, eating everything in sight only to throw it up every morning. You watch your tummy expand and get bigger and bigger, yet you still have to go about your daily chores of sweeping, mopping and cleaning all while carrying this extra weight around. The mood swings are enough to drive away a hornet. You get kicked and pushed in the ribs until you think they're going to break, and wherever you go all kinds of people have to touch your tummy and say things like, "Well, she's ready to pop," when they think you're not listening.
Then you have to drag yourself out of a warm bed sometime during the night and rush to the hospital where you get shot in the back, poked, prodded and coached to "breathe," etc. But then this tiny, round, red-faced screaming baby gets placed in your arms and you think it's going to be all worth it.
Until...it's sleepless nights and sleepless days, waking up every couple of hours to feed this bottomless pit. Your eyes are bloodshot, your whole body is exhausted and in pain.
As time goes on, there are tantrums and food throwing, peanut butter smeared on faces, hands and in hair, grubby little fingers that want to touch everything and pull everything off of shelves, wet and poopy bottoms to wipe, toys to pick up time after time after time, trading in gourmet meals for spaghetti-o's and mac and cheese, crumbs to vacuum three times a day. Seriously, I feel like a bear lately! GRRRR! The claws come out a lot lately! Why? I have no idea. I don't know what my problem is. I'm restless. I get annoyed at stupid things! Some days I just want to yell at everyone. GRR! I guess it's just frustration that ... well, it's just frustration. I won't go into reasons. I feel bad because I snap at my husband when I don't understand something he's trying to ask or say. I snap at the baby when she's hanging on my legs - which I should cherish because someday when she's too old to do that anymore, I'll wish for those moments. Sometimes, I just want to cry about it all! I guess we all have these moments.
What do you do when you feel like that? When all of life's frustrations - one thing after another - come at you? What do you do?! Please leave a comment with any advice, ideas, etc. I feel I could use it right about now. GRRR!

Precious Moments

I love when she wants to cuddle in my arms and look into my eyes. I love when she says, "Mahhh" and plants a wet, sloppy kiss on my knee, cheek, mouth, or anything else. I love how she walks around the room with the remote control, or any other object, to her ear like it's a phone and says, "Yeah," and other baby chatter as if she's talking to someone. I love that she imitates what I do, including putting her arms up and saying, "Yeah!!" like I sometimes do, or she says, "Wowww," to roar like a lion. I love her little "fake cry" she does and holds her arms out so I'll pick her up and hold her.

I love the little clicking sound she makes when she's sucking her thumb. I love how she says, "goy goy goy" while sucking her thumb. I love those rare times when I can make her laugh really hard at funny things I do, whether on accident or on purpose. I love to find her sitting in her room in the middle of her books gingerly picking up one after the other and looking at pictures. I love when she looks up at me when I catch her unexpectedly doing something and she gives me that beautiful smile of innocence. I love when she wrinkles up her face in a mock scowl.

I love her hair, even though she won't let me do anything with it, and if I do get the chance to do anything with it, it doesn't stay that way for long. I love her smell, most of the time :) and I love to nuzzle my cheek against her soft cheek and my nose in her hair. I love how she studies things closely, even the bumps on an orange. I love how she says, "gah gah gah" every time one of the neighbors' dogs bark. I love how she says "key" for kitty. I love to hear her laugh. I love to watch her thumb gently fall to her side as she drifts into perfect sleep. I love how she's stubborn and will go after what she wants. I love how she forms her lips into a perfect O and says, "Ooooh." I love her little fingers, her little toes, her little feet, her little mouth and her little tongue when it sticks in and out.

I love how sometimes in the morning, I'll find her completely turned around in bed and she's now at the foot, her little bum sticking in the air. I love how she wobbles up and down when she walks. I love how she makes little sounds in her throat when she's sucking her thumb. I love how she folds her arms for prayer. I love it when she takes her wet finger and thumb out of her mouth and sticks it in your face. (Or mouth, eww.) I love how she makes me smile and laugh. I love how she makes me happy.

I never tire of hearing her push a button on one of her toys over and over and over again, then jiggle and wiggle her little body each time the music plays. I love how she says, "hi" in a gentle tiny voice, sometimes barely audible. I love to hear her gentle sigh, and I love to hear her "talk." I love the way she tugs and tugs at my shirt when I'm sitting on the couch or chair to let me know she wants up. I love you, my angel! Love, mom

Tears shed...

...For [one of] my wonderful cousins, Porter, who passed away last night due to a hiking accident. Before I got the call from my mom, I was having a dream. In the dream, I heard the little jingle for "Hold on to dear life", no joke. And I was crying in the dream. Then the phone rang and it was my mom with the news of Porter. I just want my Aunt and Uncle and their family to know how much I love them and that they're in my thoughts and prayers. I love all of my family and I just want to say I'm so grateful for temples and the blessings of Eternal Families. Where would we be without the gospel in our lives? I love the gospel so much.
I've shed a lot of tears this day thinking about my family - my Aunt and Uncle and the rest of their children. I can't imagine what they're going through. But my heart goes out to you all.
I've been thinking all day that Porter is now with my grandpa, I can imagine that grandpa is teasing him like he used to do with all of us and I can see Porter's cute smile.

Okay, so I've been reading the random facts from my cousin Kali's blog contest, and her friends that are doing the contest too, and they've been telling things about their childhood. That got me thinking of some things that we did (or said) as kids and I just have to share some of 'em. Good times, good times! *Names may be changed in some instances.* hehe.

Okay, for starters, this is terrible! (I'll get the terrible one out of the way.) I was young, I don't remember the age, but I was chasing my sister around the house and I said, "I'll get you, you SOB," and she stopped in her tracks and said, "I'M TELLING MOM!!" I didn't know it was bad, I'd heard it in a movie!!! (In fact, I believe it was Back to the Future that I got it from, blame it on that!) Nevertheless, I learned that THAT is a BAD PHRASE!

Next is a story from my sister and one of our friends, let's call her...Fran. There was this cool field in what's now known as Hidden Hollow Drive in Orem, and we LOVED to go there and explore, play, climb a cool tree, etc. Well, one time, our friend, Fran, knocked on our door and I opened it and my sister was standing behind me. Fran said, "Hey, look what I found in that field," and she held up the most GORGEOUS geode rock we had ever seen. It was a beautiful half-circle rock and in the flat side were beautiful colors. Kinda hard to explain how it looked. Anyway, so Fran is holding out this rock for us to see and my sister said, "That's mine, I lost it!" and Fran was like, "Oh....okay," and handed it to her. lol I still have that rock today, and I still love it, it's gorgeous! If you ever want to see it, let me know!

My next little tale involves the field I talked of previously. In this field was a huge tree that looked like it was going to fall over at any moment on an unsuspecting car driving on the road past it. I mean, the branches really went out over the road. It was never going to fall, it was a pretty stable tree, that's just how it grew. Anyway, we loved that tree. We were there like every day in the Summer, we'd do everything there; we'd have picnics, play house, we once made a batch of cookie dough so we could eat it in the tree, (I know, EWW) and we would climb out on the branches and watch cars go by, and this is where my story gets interesting. We were stupid kids. (Well, okay, stupid's kind of harsh, we were just mean.) We'd sit there in the branches, nicely hidden, and whenever a car drove by that had its windows down, we would yell mean things at it. I don't mean swearing, I mean little insults that were just .... well, mean! For instance. "Car is coming!" We'd wait til it's under the tree and then, "You stink!" or "Pick my boogers," or other delinquent crap like that, you know? Well, one time, a car drove by in one direction as another drove by the opposite way. We yelled something as they passed and suddenly, it braked! We froze! It backed up to the car on the opposite side and they sat there in the road for like 5 or so minutes while the drivers talked to each other. I don't remember what all they said, but when they first backed up to each other, one said, "Did you say something to me?" and then they sat there for like 5 minutes talking while we're sitting practically above them in the tree going, "Don't breathe, don't talk, don't MOVE," The cars finally drove their separate ways and we relaxed. You'd think we would have learned our lesson to not yell stupid things at cars going by....but we kept at it. Like I said, we were stupid kids! lol

My sweet baby is a cuddle-muffin! (Most of the time, anyway.) Here was an early picture I captured when she was 7 months old, it's so dang cute!! The teddy-bear was as big as her. lol

Well, once again, it's been a while since I caught up on the blog, so here goes! I've got Christmas and a few other random things to catch up on.
It was truly a wonderful Christmas! I have a wonderful family, and this year I was all excited for Sierra to experience "Santa!" It'll probably be even better this year when she's 2.
Sierra likes to sit in her high chair while we (or I) do a project together. I really wanted to do a gingerbread house since I haven't made one for years, so we did! As soon as I started, I thought, "Oh no, I need the really sticky icing! This regular stuff won't work." And indeed, it wasn't. So I just put down my knife and made it work by finger painting. Boy was that fun! :) I just plastered the house together and then decorated, it turned out not too bad!

And then Christmas Eve, as soon as I put Sierra to bed, I got busy! Put the stuff out and made signs, it was so much fun! I've looked so forward to doing stuff like this for my kids forever!

Here she is Christmas morning, we put her down on the floor and she crawled right over to the stuff to look at it and touch it, it was so cute! Santa brought her a toy that she can walk with and ride on, she hasn't touched it much up until recently when she's finally started walking with it. (She's not walking by herself yet.) She did love to push it around, however, on her knees. Funny girl! And we discovered that as you push it, the head bobs up and down and will scoop things into the basket part under the seat. So you can clean up toys that way, neat!

She also got a toy telephone and some megablocks, which she loves.

And now for the randomness. Sierra will go up to our stereo and turn it on, especially if there's a CD in it, she will turn it on so she can dance! And she knows how to change tracks too! How come these kids are so dang smart?!

I love her hair, it's getting long, I took a picture of her in the bath the other day to show how long it's getting, I love it!

And I've been able to start doing such cute little things, such as this, with it!
I've always wanted a girl so I could do cutesy things with her hair and dress her up, as shown in the next picture.
Here's Sierra in her Sunday best, I love this dress, I think it's so dang cute! And though you can't see it well, I put her hair into a cute little ponytail on top of her head and to the side a bit and it just puffed out so dang cute! I love it! Like a little palm tree, hehehe

Now she's almost 14 months old!! I love you, my sweet bugga-boo!!

Well, here's another [dark] video! Why do they always turn out like that?! (I said that last time!) At least you can hear it! I was making faces at Sierra and she was laughing, so I said, "Will you do that on camera?" (She usually stops whatever she's doing when she knows the camera is faced at her.) But she continued laughing and it was so cute! I'm glad I got it on film, even though it's dark. (GRRR!) Enjoy!

Halloween '09

Halloween was fun this year, since it was Sierra's first and I have always wanted kids to do all the festivities. We borrowed a unicorn costume from my cousin (Thanks Sarah!!) and that's what Sierra was this year, it was cute!! She didn't always like the hood on, though. Here we are in all our regalia at our ward's costume party. I took Sierra around the various activities. They had a fish pond and a fun house, I think she liked them!

Then we were able to go to a Halloween party at my brother's house, which was also a lot of fun. I wore a different costume to this party. Here's Granny and the Unicorn. (Sounds like a book, huh?)

Dave brought along the gummy hand - looks yummy, don't it?

I hope he ate the whole thing! JK (It was kind of gross, actually. I took a little piece. It went in the garbage because it tasted like gym socks....ewww!)

Anyway, all-in-all, it was a great Halloween. I LOVE Halloween, dressing up and decorating is my fave!! I hope everyone else had a great one!

10 Months!

[Sniff sniff] - my baby is 10 months old now! My, how time flies, I can't believe it! Soon we'll be putting a little cake in front of her to goop in -- I can't wait! :)

So I was taking her picture in the chair. After I got a few, I turned my back for just a second and when I looked at her again, she's like this:

AAACK! She's pulling herself to stand now - she did that all by herself. I snapped a picture just in time because she almost tumbled off the chair! (I did catch her. No bonks.) :) And she does that all the time now - pulls herself to stand, I mean. [More sniff-sniffing] She really is growing up! Sigh!

Fun! Fun! Fun! at the State Fair!

We were able to go to the State Fair on Saturday the 19th and had a lot of fun!

We saw a lot of animals - this one isn't a very good picture, but it's me and Sierra by a baby calf that was so darn cute! I love cows!

And this was a HUGE cow, over 3000 lbs. It was kinda scary standing next to it! I thought it would move over and bump us. But he was very friendly. Look at those horns!! I wouldn't want to be chased by that. I love this picture.

We went to see the bunnies and chickens and they had one fluffy bunny right out on the table and it was soooo soft! I loved petting its fur. (Don't know if it was a boy or girl, so it stays an "it") It was such a cute bunny! And it was for sale! Too bad, Juan's not an animal lover like me. We did not end up bringing it home. hehe

I tried to get some good pictures of Sierra petting it, she was funny! She grabbed its fur and its ears, poor thing. lol

Then, me and Sierra did "Little Hands on the Farm" and she got a stamp on her hand, as well as an apron and a basket.

We did many chores on the farm, including, picking up corn and feeding and milking the fake cow, picked a fake fruit off a fake tree, took an egg from the fake chicken's nest, and she earned herself one fake dollar, with which she could buy one REAL item with her fake dollar.

(You can kind of see the fake green dollar in Sierra's hand if you look closely.) Sierra was such a sweetie, she bought a granola bar for me and daddy to share. Yum! It was a fun hands-on experience! I think next year, she'll have even more fun when she understands more.

Finally, at the end of the day, Juan let me go on the Super Fun Big Slide. I made Juan take pictures. I'm on the second bump in the white shirt, look closely.

It was very fun!! Next year, I'll be able to take Sierra with me! (and maybe convince Juan to go too. I don't know, I'm just a big kid I guess, I like stuff like that.)

We had so much fun that Sierra zonked right out, as usual.

Well, it seems like FOREVER since I have had the internet. We moved into our new place in West Jordan and hadn't gotten an internet plan until just a few days ago, I felt so disconnected to the world!! But here we are again, so I am updating my blog. It's going to be a long one since we've done so much since the last time I posted a blog!

My baby girl is 9 months old today!! I can't believe how fast time flies! It just seems like yesterday when I welcomed her to the world! She gets sweeter and sweeter everyday! She says "BA BA BA" and "DA DA DA" now. She also likes to suck her thumb and finger and say "Goy goy goy," it's so cute and funny! She's learning new sounds every day. Also, one time when I was changing her diaper, she started moving away and I was like, "Hey! Get get get get!!" (Like get back here) and she said it! Sometimes she'll say "get get get" now. It's so cute! It's fun to see her personality come out.

She can sit by herself and she is quite the scooter! She's so fast! One minute she's on the floor here and the next minute, I look down and she's gone - across the room and doing something else, she's so smart! And she's finally got a tooth coming in. I tried to get a good picture, but this is the best I could do. She hates it when I probe around in there trying to get a good shot.

I was watching Fox 13 one night and it said, "Text 'Blimpie' to blah-blah-blah number and you could be our next winner!" So I just casually took my phone and texted the word. That was on a Saturday. The very next Monday I got a call from Fox 13 and they said, "YOU WON a 3-foot party blast sub!" Woohoo! Immediately, I thought, 'I smell a picnic coming on!"

So I invited my brothers and their families over for a picnic in the park, it was so fun! The kids had a lot of fun playing at the West Jordan City Park (Veteran's Memorial Park) that me and Juan discovered a few weeks ago. It's a nice park! We take Sierra there to swing in the baby swings all the time now, she loves to swing!

Dave and Amy (my brother and sister-in-law) were asked by Amy's sister to go and housesit for a night, so they invited us to come and watch movies, play games, whatever. It was so fun! Here's Sierra relaxing in the HUGE love-sac. I think she liked it!

And me and Juan got on a good game with the air-hockey table - that was so much fun - I kicked his butt! We need an air-hockey table!!

Sarelle and her family were able to come to Utah from Georgia in August, so her kids got to meet the newest cousins, Sierra and Melaiya. Here are all the nephews and nieces (minus Melaiya, she wasn't there at the time.) So cute together!! I hope we can all get together again soon!

We went with my friend, Sally and her family to the zoo, it was Juan and Sierra's first time at the Hogle zoo, it was a lot of fun!

So much so that Sierra zonked right out!

And last but not LEAST in my long post is something I thought I'd NEVER DO! I rode WICKED at Lagoon with Courtney, Derek, and Cameron! Wow! What a rush! It was a lot of fun to go to Lagoon with Cameron and his family.

And YES, I lived through it! I survived Wicked! hehehehe

My little sweetie is getting so big and so smart, it makes me kind of sad that time goes so fast. She's learning how to sit up by herself, it's so cute! Doesn't this picture just look like she's a little lady?

She's trying so hard to crawl. She rolls all over the place but isn't crawling yet, I feel it is soon though! Here she is learning to use her legs:

Sierra has a new favorite cup; her first sippy! She really is growing up! She loves her cup to be filled with apple juice, it's her favorite -- YUM!!

And speaking of growing up too fast, she's also learning to get out of her clothes, the little stripper, lol. I found her one morning like this; her head facing the foot of her bed and her nightie coming off -- she makes me laugh at something new everyday, I love her so much!

I'm so bad!! I leave my blog neglected for weeks at a time when there's so much I want to post about! I take all the pictures but then I'm too lazy to put them on the computer and get my blog updated! Anyway, here's another update!!

It's been a busy month and we're getting ready to move up to West Jordan into a cheaper place than the one we're in now, we're excited! We found a nice mobile home in a nice neighborhood and a friendly community. Here are some pictures of the place we're moving to, we're going to give it a good paint job and fix it up nice!

The place is surrounded with rose bushes - my favorite flower! And here's a unique flower that grows in our yard too but I don't know the name of it -- anyone?? They're awesome!

so here it is! Sierra is six (6) months old now! And just look at her, sitting in her little chair all by herself! (Well, almost. She did pretty good but I had to snap the picture and get her off. She's still a little wobbly.)

We love to take walkies in the sunshine, and are well prepared.

Sierra's hair on the top is long and I decided to try something with it. I found these awesome curlers at the dollar store, they're self-sticking - just roll 'em in when the hair is wet, let it dry, and take 'em out. She was so good and patient while I experimented.
And here was the result. I hope you can see that, it's kind of dark. I thought it turned out really cute! All curly on top! She's such a princess!

And last, we took Sierra to her first carnival:

It was so fun! Eagle Mountain had their Pony Express Days last week, I love going to those things! It was very fun! I can't wait til she's old enough to go on the little rides, that will be fun! It was nice just walking around and being at the carnival. And you can't have a carnival without cotton candy, right? I got some and I guess Juan has never seen it before. He was like, "What's that?" and he tested some. Immediately, he made a face and said, "It's ugly!" (which means, it's 'gross'." So next time, the cotton candy can stay with me! He can get popcorn! hehehe.

All-in-all, it's been a fun couple of weeks! I can't believe my baby is already half a year old! Wow, time does go by, doesn't it? Signing off for now!

We had a birthday party for my mom this last Sunday, the 29th of March. It was lots of fun. While they were at church, I finished baking her cake and I decorated, much to her surprise.

And of course, I made her pose for pictures, everyone needs pictures for their birthday!

And below is the picture I got of her face when she saw the pies I'd wrapped up for her, she has like 10 in the freezer now!! (If you're just tuning in, see previous post titled "Random funnies" for the story about the pies!) It was fun! We also gave her some beautiful pictures of some temples. Happy birthday mom!

My baby is 4 months old now!!! I can't believe how fast time goes by! It's been so fun and challenging, but I love it! She gets stronger everyday! Love you, baby!

Finally, at this one place I used to work, I had found this metal thingy in the trash so I took it home, intending to do something funny with it. So I glued on some googly eyes.

My first random funny is that I heard on the news this morning that a woman robbed a Baskin Robbins in Holladay last night and they're still searching for her. That just sounds funny. Seriously, how much can you get out of a Baskin Robbins? Of all the places to rob:

"GIMME ALL THE ICE CREAM AND NOBODY GETS HURT!! HURRY UP, PUT IT IN THESE BAGS!!!"

Secondly, remember that episode of Seinfeld where they discontinue a certain brand of contraceptive, the Sponge, and she goes and buys a whole case of the things? Then she says things like, "Are you 'sponge worthy'?" You gotta love Elaine! She's awesome!

With that in mind, the Hostess company has discontinued their 'lemon' flavored pie, so my mom is searching for them and can't find them anywhere anymore. So whenever Dave or Candace or others find some, they buy them for her. Today, I found six at a Maverik and thought it would be funny if I wrapped them up and gave them to her for her birthday, which is on Sunday. She is stowing them in the freezer - it's her favorite way to eat them; frozen. But it just reminded me of that Seinfeld episode. She's stocking up a bunch of Hostess lemon pies and I can just hear her thinking: "Is this a Hostess-lemon-pie-worthy moment?"

We finally got Sierra blessed this last Sunday, March 8th. It was Juan's first time and he did an excellent job! He said it in Spanish so I don't know what he said but I'm going to interrogate him later and record it in my journal. Her blessing outfit was so cute, and I found her a headband to go with it. She looked beautiful!

The video below is kind of dark and you may have to turn up your speakers, but it's so funny, I had to share it. When Sierra gets really excited, she'll breathe really fast, like panting, and one night she just kept doing it so I had to tape it. I had to prompt her a couple of times, but you can hear her really good near the end of the video, and she just kicks her arms and legs while she does it, I think it's so cute! Enjoy! (I hope the video works!)

My baby is 3 months old already!! And it's been such an adventure thus far! I love my little sweetie so much!

...All my pretty hair that's falling out! Has anyone else experienced this after having a baby? I hate it! I could make a wig with all the hair that's coming out! I think I need to get my hair cut short for a while. I don't know if that would help but I dread washing my hair in the shower and trying to smooth it out with my fingers and THEN getting out of the shower to go through it with my pick and more comes out! My little sweety-pie is 2 months old now!! Can you believe it? She's smiling a lot more these days and I love it! Here she is in her little red puppy outfit, sooo cute! And I attempted to curl her hair but you can't really tell. :)

Church is in session and the congregation is listening to the sermon when suddenly, the big doors in the back swing open and in flies the devil. Yes, she's here! Last Monday, the 1st, I had another doctor appt. and he wanted me to go to the hospital for an NST (non-stress test) for the baby. So, the next morning, Juan and I went to the hospital for the test and they discovered that my fluid level was low and they didn't want to send me home because it could be dangerous for the baby, so they said they would start labor that very day. Of course, we hadn't brought my bag or anything because it was supposed to just be a routine test. I had no idea I'd be staying. Wow! (I remember having a feeling the night before that said, "put your stuff in the car, even if you have to just take it out...") Shoulda done that! At about 10:00 am, they started labor and all through the day, things were going very good, I was having some good contractions and I was being strong. I thought, "I can breathe through these contractions, I'll try it without the epidural." Ha! Near the end, I was saying, "I'm going to kill someone! Bring in the epidural!" And they did. I went nice and numb. But then, when they kept saying, "We need you to turn over," I was like, "I cannot move!" and they had to push and pull me to whatever side they needed me on. I was not dilating past a 4 the whole day, and they said the baby was face-up (or, opposite of what she was supposed to be to come out.) Finally, they concluded that my pelvis is not big enough to pass a baby through and said they were going to give me a c-section. I think the baby was going into a little stress also and they wanted to get her out. So, at about 9:30 or so, they upped the epidural and then I really couldn't move and they still needed me to get onto my side. They gave me some other stuff and the doctor said, "This will make you shake, by the way." Yeah, shake! I felt like I was freezing to death and I shivered so much, my teeth were chattering (is that the right word?) I would shiver uncontrollably at times. They wheeled me into the delivery room and the whole time they were doing the procedure, I just shivered so much. Juan was there holding my hand. I was feeling drugged up and in a dream-world, but I remember hearing the doctors' various conversations. They told Juan to come and look at the baby when she was out and he did, he got some pictures of her with a thing over her face (I'll have to post later.) So, she was born December 2nd at 10:46 pm, 20 1/2 inches long, 6 lbs. 7 oz. and she has a LOT of black hair and dark blue eyes (they look sapphire to me). She is such a doll. I love her so much. Now, I'm just trying to get into this first-time-mothering thing and I don't think I'm very good at it, in my opinion. I guess we'll get there someday. I'll post baby pictures as soon as I can, she's so dang cute!!

Finally! Some good news!

I went to the doctor this morning and received very good news! (I know, I should relish every last moment of sleep that I can...baby's days in there are numbered!) I am 70% effaced and dilated to a two, so she should come in a couple of days hopefully. (And yes, I'm still keeping your guesses in sight.) I have another doctor appt. next Monday, but hopefully I won't have to use it, and he said if I do have to use it and I haven't had her yet, they will induce me on Tuesday the 9th. In conclusion, I will definitely have her by next week! What did I say in the last post about little Princess moving her butt? Well, she's moving her butt! :)

Ohh, the agony!

I mean - the agony of waiting these last few days for little baby Silva to come! She is due this coming Thursday (Dec. 4th) so we'll see what happens! I go to the Dr. again on Monday and he said if we go a week over Dec. 4th, they'll induce me. But I'm so hoping that there's some good news on Monday. I'm so anxious to have her out of there! I'll let you know if there's some dilating going on!! It's time for little Princess to move her butt! Someone put a fork in her, she's DONE! (At least I think so.)

Nuttin' new yet...

I went to the dr. again last Monday and I was telling him what the ultrasound tech said about the baby being two weeks smaller than the Dec. 4th date and he said they give a window of 22 days either way, (mentioning a Dec. 17th date this time, grr, she'll stay in there forever, I feel like!) Anyway, he checked me and as of that day, I was dilated to about a one and a half, but no effacing yet. I've been having pelvic pains, which he said was normal, I'm just getting ready to deliver. Anyway, so he said, "We'll see about due date as we go along..." I'm getting soooo anxious to be done and have her out, but I'm trying to not be frustrated. I gotta be patient. As my mom put it, we've just got to leave it in the Lord's hands, He knows when the time is right for her to come. Just trying to be patient....I'm just kinda sad that she won't be here before Sarelle leaves to go back to Georgia the day after Thanksgiving. I was so hoping she'd be able to see the baby. Oh well. :)
My mom says it's paybacks for me being 14 days late myself - hahaha. Guess so. I'll keep ya'all updated.

What?! Move my date back??

So I went to the doctor last Monday and he was looking through my file. At my first ultrasound, the tech had said she was a little smaller than we thought - like maybe we were a week off or something. So when Dr. Holmes was looking through my file, he said maybe we should get another ultrasound to make sure the baby was looking normal in there. He also said it looked like a NEW due date of Dec. 4th. That means my ticker is off! (I just adjusted the baby thing below the ticker, so anytime between the two, I guess.) Anyway, yesterday, I went to the ultrasound and had fun looking at her again in there. I saw her head and face (sorta - after the tech pointed it out.) The tech said she has more fat on her cheeks now, and she was sucking! It was so cute! Her foot is right in front of her face, it looked like she was sucking on it. hehe. She is still kind of small - in fact, the tech said she's like 2 weeks smaller than the Dec. 4th date, Ugh! However, it might just be that she's not growing or something - she's not off the charts, she is still within the boundaries, so it's not like she's abnormally small, just a little smaller than usual. The tech said that the next time I go to the doctor, he'll measure me again and if she's not growing, they may take her early. The tech also said she has short legs. Juan came home and was comparing our legs, lol. We're both not very tall, I think she just takes after her mama - I don't have very long legs. I think she's ready to come, though, she is head-down. Really, in my opinion, I think she could come anytime, we'll have to see. The Lord knows. :) I'll keep you updated, just wanted to let you know the latest. I'm so excited to have her out of there and be finished, but I must be patient. We want her to be healthy, after all.

But since this is my first time with this stuff, I don't know anything, what all do I need? They don't keep you in the hospital very long anymore, do they? I was just looking at everyone's blogs and realized my baby counter says "30 days!" Holy cow! It's really getting close! I'm excited. So the latest on my pregnancy is, I've been a little crampy lately and baby's feeties are in my ribs! It's fun though. I'm getting anxious to have her out of there so I can hold her, dress her up, give her luvs, etc. I think we're about ready, there's just a few more things that we need, but we're just waiting for her big debut. I bet my niece, Courtney, is dying to have her out of there too, she's been waiting so long for a girl cousin.

New colors!

I finally updated my blog colors for Fall and Halloween, I love it! I found the picture at the top from Google. (Google rocks!)

So, we're into October now and although I don't like the coming cold, I love the upcoming Halloween! It's always been one of my favorite holidays. And when it comes to dressing up, I deck out! I don't like to just put a sheet over my head and call it good, when I put on a costume, I put on EVERY detail. Here's a story I have to share, I love it! (And now I'll have to go find the picture that goes with it, dang it!) (But I'll try and find it and post it so you can see.)

When I worked at Maceys in Provo, they always had a Halloween costume contest. This one guy, Trevor, won it like every year because he had excellent costumes. This one year, I was like, "Dang it, I'm gonna win this year!" And the first prize was $50. So I went home and got on the internet and started looking at costumes. I had to have something GOOD! I found a costume somewhere for Sleeping Beauty's 'Maleficent', it had the flowing robe with fire zig zags down it, and it came with a headpiece with her horns. I started getting ideas about what else I could add...but then I saw the price. $50 bucks?! That really got me started thinking what I could add, because if I could win, I'd pay for the costume. So, I went out on a limb and bought the costume. In the meantime, waiting for it to ship, I devoted my time to studying Maleficent. I put on the video and watched her, I put it on pause and looked at her details. She had dark purple eyeliner from the lids up to the eyebrows, she had painted nails, red red lips, and I even noticed a jeweled ring on her finger. (All the while taking notes!) And of course, she had the long pole with her bird. After extensive study, I set out to start collecting things. I went to good old Walmart and bought a wooden curtain rod with a ball at one end. I bought a big fake bird at Michael's Crafts that had wires coming out of its feet. My brother Dave, bless his soul, drilled the holes in the top of the pole and stuck the bird to the top of my "staff." (And there it stays to this day.) I also bought a jewel at Walmart that looked exactly like the ring she wore. I bought the perfect shade of green (mint color) for my face and skin, red red lipstick, purple eye-liner, etc. I was ready! The costume came and I tried it on. Much to my dismay, one of the horns (which were made out of stupid foam) hung down so I looked like Maleficent the bunny rabbit with a floppy ear. So my mother, bless HER soul, sewed some black sticks to the back and they stood up perfectly.

I was ready for the day! I got up early on the contest day and put on my green skin, red lips, ring, eyeliner, costume, etc. grabbed my staff and bird and headed off to work. The looks on people's faces when I went walking into Maceys, it was funny! People were like, "Holy cow! I think a villain just walked in here." They took a picture for the contest wall and I did my thing behind the cash register. My staff was just standing behind me. In walks Trevor in FULL Knights costume, complete with the chain vest and everything, and I thought, "Wow, that's awesome." A little girl came through my line with her parents and she whispered something to her mom (I think she was dressed like a princess), and her mom said, "She wants a picture with you." hehehe. It was so cute! So I went and got a picture with her. Okay, the story is a little long, I apologize. After all was said and done, me and Trevor were in a tie at the end of the day. And I believe it took like another day or two to decide on the outcome, but I ended up winning first and he got second, I believe. So I paid for the costume and I still wear it loud and proud to this day! I absolutely LOVE that costume!! It's treasured! I'll try to find the picture and post it. Halloween rocks, I love it!

Two Months Left!

Wow, I only have two months left and I'm getting a little nervous. I keep thinking, "I know you're still growing and getting bigger, and I know that you'll have to come out of there eventually." Scary! I am, however, looking forward to having the baby out to cuddle and kiss and hug...that'll be the fun part. I'm not so sure of the "birthing" part. But I know the Lord will be with me and help me through it.

There's a lot of movement in there lately. She likes to turn her whole self around and I'll be at work when she does it, so I put my hand on my tummy and think, "What are you doing in there?!" Silly baby. But all is going well. We've got some more stuff for the baby - I found a nice changing table at DI, as well as some cute clothes. And when onesies that look brand new are only a buck, you can't pass that up! So we're getting ready, slowly but surely. And look at this cute find!! (DI, of course.) (Also a buck!)

They were so tiny and clean and new-looking, aren't they darling? I had to have them. Okay, now I have to post another picture, these were too cute as well! (And my sister says 'don't get carried away...)

Baby's first rugged boots! Love 'em! She'll have to grow into those, they were a bit bigger, but who could pass those up?! Fun, fun stuff!! Why are kids clothes so dang cute?

A Tribute to my Grandfather

1923-2008

My dear grandpa Fisher passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7th and I just wanted to say a few words. He was such a great man and I'll miss him so much. He was funny and I loved hearing stories about his army days and the funny things that he did. I liked to tease him and kiss his cheek whenever he came over to see us, and he would always say to my grandma, "Who's this woman kissing me?" I'll sure miss that. It was fun to give him hugs and kisses. The ceremony was beautiful, complete with army honors. I know he's happier and he won't have to hurt anymore. He's in a better place. I love you Grandpa!
I still have my two grandmas and I want them to know that I love them as well! Families are such a wonderful thing and I'm grateful to have an awesome family in my life. I'm glad that families can be together forever.

I haven't posted an update for a while, I've been a little busy and I just wanted to post a quick update. I should be in bed, I'm tired!! I've started working at Deseret Industries in AF, back in the clothing processing. I either inspect the clothes that get donated (i.e. holes? stains? out of style? lol) or I hang up the ones that pass the inspection test. I really enjoy working there, I work with good people, it's a great place and I feel like it's a big service project. We have a devotional every morning, which really gets the day off to a good start, I love it.

So tomorrow, I have to go to another prenatal appt. and this time, they're having me take a glucose test! Hence, the subject line - yummy...sugar! I have to drink this sugary drink within a 1o minute time period and then be at the doctors 45 minutes later so they can test my blood. Everyone I've talked to about this portion of my pregnancy exams say, "it's really sweet!! Like pure sugar!" and one girl at work said, "It makes you kind of....loopy, be careful driving to the doctors!" hehehe. Fun huh!

I can't believe it's getting so close now to having my own little baby girl around, I'm so excited! It's funny, when I am sitting in church and I have my arm resting across my belly, she'll start kicking and kicking at it. Last week, I watched my arm move up and down, I almost laughed out loud, it was so dang cute!! She's probably in there going, "Would you move?! I need some space!" I have news for her - it's going to get a lot more cramped in there before long. She does a lot of moving and it's sure fun! I love it! I feel like I'm getting a little anxious for her to come out though. But soon enough. Anyway...I think that's all for now. I'm 27 weeks today! Goodnight everyone! Love ya all! Stacey

Chinese gymnasts win another gold

BEIJING - "China's He Kexin won a tiebreaker over all-around champion Nastia Liukin of the United States for the uneven bars gold medal Monday at the Beijing Olympics."

Did you watch the olympics on Monday night? They were having the women's gymnastics on the uneven bars, and I've loved to watch Nastia perform, she's good! But there was a tie breaker between her and a little Chinese girl, He Kexin, I thought they were both good, but everyone thought that Nastia's routine was just a bit more smooth. I don't know, I'm not a judge, but poor Nastia ended up getting a silver medal over that tiebreaker and I felt so bad for her, you could see the disappointment in her face the rest of the night. In my opinion, they both should have gotten the gold for having a tied score. In the past, they've given double medals for ties, but the rules have changed.

So, here's a gold medal for you, Nastia! I still think you're great!

I love to see the temple!

I was able to go to the Jordan River Temple with my cousin, Mercedes, who went for the first time, and I just have to say I love it! I felt all "warm and tingly", it's so peaceful and beautiful in the temple, I could spend forever in there just clinging to the spirit! I'm so grateful for the gospel in my life, I don't know where I would be without it. I'm grateful for 'Eternal Families' and every blessing the gospel brings. I just wanted to share that. I took this picture of the temple with my cellphone camera and I must say...not too bad!! It's so pretty, and the sky was a perfect bunch of clouds and colors to capture the image!

Summer's almost over...

Isn't that sad?!
Well, I think so anyway! I love Summer and it's coming to an end! But I suppose with the end of one season, another one comes along, and who knows what surprises are in store. I'm just one of those people that don't like things to change. (Much.) I know, change is necessary. I always get a little sad when Summer is over. Summer is my favorite time of year, I love it, even though it's hot and miserable some days. I could live with Summer weather all year long. Where my husband is from (Trujillo Peru) he says it is 70's and 80's all year 'round. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! I told him we need to move there. His family lives by the BEACH!! I'm not sure how close, but living anywhere close to a beach, mm-hmm! I love beaches!
I hope everyone has had a good Summer! It hasn't been too bad. And even though it's about over, I am looking forward to having my baby girl in November, it's getting closer! She moves mostly at night, the silly thing. The other night, I felt more than just one move, it was like a series of moves all at once, like waves or bumps, and I thought, "What are you doing in there?!" hehe. Silly baby. I can't wait to welcome her into our family and see what she'll look like! Have a great day everyone!

From Punky Brewster to Silver Spoons, you gotta love 80's tv!! There were so many fun shows back then, TV just isn't the same! Does anyone remember Dance Fever or Dance Party USA? It's been a few days since I updated what's going on around here, so I thought I'd post some updates! I've started feeling the baby move, it's fun! Little flutters in my tummy, it's so cute! The first little pop I felt in there, I was like, "Was that the baby??" I believe it was! And she's a little more active now, it's cool! My brother's birthday was yesterday and I wanted to wish him a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Another year younger! Birthdays are fun!

We went up to my cousin Mercedes' bridal shower yesterday, she's such a cute girl!! I just want to wish them congratulations! I am happy for them, it's an exciting time in their lives!

Finally, my dear friend Lacee got married, and I wanted to wish them congratulations as well! I'm so happy for both of them, I hope that they have a wonderful life together! She's a beautiful bride! And of course, he's a handsome groom! Congrats Lacee & Travis! I love that bridal picture of you in the field, Lace! Gorgeous!
